Advantages and scope of application of steel sheets
Sheet steel is used to make the cars we drive, houses, hangars, gas pipelines, machine tools – the list is endless. Steel can be bent or shaped in an infinite number of ways, making it an ideal material even for non-standard parts and components. It is a multifunctional material, the advantages of which include:

And, finally, steel is considered an environmentally friendly material, and it is easily recycled and suitable for secondary use.
The production of sheet metal components is a process that is extremely cost-effective, as raw material waste can be minimized:
- It is necessary to ensure the purchase of the exact amount of materials under the disclosure of details.
- Residues are used for additional purposes, and shavings are processed.
You can buy a sheet of metal in two variations: a steel sheet in a roll and in a flat form. The thickness can vary greatly, from thin sheets to products that are more than 6 mm thick, called thick sheet steel, plate or plate.

Types of steel sheets
In the production process, many types of steels are created, which are classified according to physical, chemical and environmental properties. These properties depend on the amount of carbon, the level of impurities and the addition of various alloying elements. Each type is designed for a specific field of application.
Conventionally, steel is divided into four main groups based on chemical structure and physical properties:
- carbon,
- stainless,
- instrumental,
- alloyed
Sheets are hot-rolled and cold-rolled. Depending on the type of steel, they can also be tin-plated, galvanized, nickel-plated, lacquered, enameled or plastic-coated.
Flat steel products, subjected to appropriate processing, can become a decorative element of apartments and public buildings decorated in a fashionable industrial style.
Wear-resistant sheets with high hardness, very high resistance to abrasion and loads are also constantly popular. This type is used in underground and open mining, it is used to make gravel chutes, excavator buckets and bulldozer dumps.
